Scientific Fields
The EPISTERA 2026 International Interdisciplinary Congress is open to original theoretical, methodological, empirical, and applied studies conducted in the scientific fields listed below.
The main theme of the congress “Designing the New Era at the Intersection of Sciences: Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence, and Sustainable Transformation” The main theme has been determined. Studies related to this theme are particularly encouraged. However, submissions are not limited to the main theme; studies addressing research problems within related disciplines will also be considered for scientific evaluation.
1. Social Sciences and Humanities
Studies in sociology, history, philosophy, psychology, anthropology, communication, linguistics, and literature will be considered within this scope. Research examining social structure and change, gender, migration, identity, social memory, media, language and thought relationships, and human social and historical experiences can be submitted to this area.
2. Educational Sciences
Studies in education policies, educational administration, curricula and methods, measurement and evaluation, teacher training, special education, guidance and psychological counseling, higher education, and lifelong learning will be evaluated within this scope. Research on educational technologies, digital learning environments, the use of artificial intelligence in education, and physical education instruction can also be submitted to this field.
3. Health and Life Sciences
Medicine, nursing, dentistry, midwifery, pharmacy, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, nutrition and dietetics, public health, and biomedical research will be considered within this scope. Clinical and experimental studies, preventive health services, digitalization in healthcare, athlete health, exercise physiology, and research on the effects of physical activity on health can be submitted to this area.
4. Natural Sciences
Fundamental and applied research in mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, and earth sciences will be considered within this scope. Studies contributing to the explanation of natural phenomena, mathematical modeling, the development of experimental methods, and scientific measurement processes can be submitted to this area.
5. Engineering and Technology
Studies in engineering disciplines, primarily computer, electrical-electronics, mechanical, industrial, civil, materials, and biomedical engineering, will be evaluated within this scope. Research related to software, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, cybersecurity, robotics, automation, manufacturing technologies, energy systems, and sports technologies can be submitted to this area.
6. Economics and Administrative Sciences
Economics, business administration, finance, accounting, labor economics, human resources, and organizational studies will be considered within this scope. Studies on entrepreneurship, marketing, international trade, tourism management, healthcare management, sports management, digital economy, labor processes, and economic development can be submitted to this area.
7. Law, Public Administration and Political Studies
Studies in the fields of law, political science, public administration, and international relations will be considered within this scope. Research on political thought, democracy, citizenship, human rights, public policies, bureaucracy, local governments, international politics, and governance can be submitted to this area. Topics such as digital government, algorithmic decision-making, the legal regulation of artificial intelligence, and democratic oversight can also be addressed within this scope.
8. Agriculture, Environment and Sustainability
Studies related to agriculture, food systems, forestry, ecology, environmental sciences, and natural resource management will be evaluated within this scope. Research on climate change, biodiversity, water and soil management, food security, renewable energy, circular economy, rural development, and sustainable cities can be submitted to this area.
9. Arts, Culture, Architecture and Design
Fine arts, art history, music, performing arts, cinema, design, architecture, interior design, urban and regional planning, and cultural studies will be considered within this scope. Research on cultural heritage, aesthetics, visual culture, creative industries, digital art, the social use of space, and design practices can be submitted to this area.
10. Interdisciplinary Studies
Studies that connect concepts, theoretical approaches, or methods from multiple disciplines around a common research problem will be considered within this scope. Applications should explain how the relationship between disciplines is established and how this relationship contributes to the research. Research focusing on the relationship between science, technology, and society; the ethics of artificial intelligence; the relationship between humans, the environment, and health; and the multifaceted effects of digitalization can be submitted to this area.
Selecting the Field of Science in the Application
During the application process, the scientific field most closely related to the study's central research question, theoretical approach, and methodology should be selected. If a topic is related to more than one field, the focus of the research should be prioritized. For example, a study on artificial intelligence focusing on developing technical methods could be submitted to the "Engineering and Technology" field; if it examines the oversight of public decisions, it could be submitted to the "Law, Public Administration, and Political Studies" field.
Studies within the field of sports sciences are also open to evaluation depending on the focus of the research. Sports education studies can be submitted to "Educational Sciences"; athlete health and exercise studies to "Health and Life Sciences"; sports management studies to "Economics and Administrative Sciences"; and sports sociology and psychology studies to "Social and Human Sciences".
The topics mentioned are examples; applications can also be submitted with other original research that falls within the scientific scope of the congress.
